Welcome to the Macclesfield Cricket Academy page

The Academy provides high-quality cricket coaching for children from the ages of 7 to 18. Coaching is run by a team of very motivated volunteers, all of whom are English Cricket Board (ECB) qualified and who have relevant child safeguarding and first aid coaching, and are CRB/DBS vetted.

The Academy is very popular and we had 140 members last season across the age groups. We play at  the following age groups:

  • Under 7 (School Years 1 & 2),
  • Under 9 (School Years 3 & 4)
  • Under 11 (School Years 5 & 6)
  • Under 13 (School Years 7 & 8)
  • Under 15 (School Years 9 & 10)
  • Under 18 (up to School Year 13)

Our season is very hectic, running from early January when we start Winter Nets, which run until end April when the outdoor competition season starts through until end July.

Winter Nets are held at excellent facilities at Tytherington High School Sports Hall on Saturday afternoons. We are also extremely fortunate to have the use of the newly built cricket nets at Kings School on Westminster Road for outdoor nets in the summer, as well as at our own new nets and a beautiful ground on Victoria Road.

We compete in leagues in the Cheshire County League, Cheshire and Derbyshire High Peak League, South Manchester Junior Cricket League and North Cheshire Junior Cricket Association.

For more information on the Academy please contact Academy Head Coach, Stewart Garnett.
